3.Right-clicktheEthernetLANadaptericonandclickEnable.
•UpdateorreinstalltheEthernetLANdriver.See“Keepingyourcomputercurrent”onpage22.
•Installallnetworkingsoftwarethatisnecessaryforyournetworkenvironment.CheckwithyourLAN
administratorforthenecessarynetworkingsoftware.
•Setthesameduplexfortheswitchportandtheadapter.Ifyouconfiguredtheadapterforfullduplex,
ensurethattheswitchportisalsoconfiguredforfullduplex.Settingthewrongduplexmodemight
degradeperformance,causedataloss,orresultinlostconnections.
MycomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodelandIuseaspeedof1000Mbps,buttheconnectionfails
orerrorsoccur
Solution:ConnectthenetworkcabletotheEthernetconnectorusingCategory5wiringanda100BASE-T
hub/switch(not100BASE-X).

butatonly100Mbps
