Thecomputerbeepsmultiple
timesbeforetheoperating
systemstarts.
Verifythatnokeysarestuck.
Troubleshootingprocedure
Usethefollowingprocedureasastartingpointfordiagnosingproblemsyouareexperiencingwithyour
computer:
1.Verifythatthecablesforallattacheddevicesareconnectedcorrectlyandsecurely.
2.Verifythatallattacheddevicesthatrequireacpowerareconnectedtoproperlygrounded,functioning
electricaloutlets.
3.VerifythatallattacheddevicesareenabledintheBIOSsettingsofyourcomputer.Formoreinformation
aboutaccessingandchangingtheBIOSsettings,refertoyourChapter7“UsingtheSetupUtility
program”onpage75.
4.Gotothe“Troubleshooting”onpage96andfollowtheinstructionsforthetypeofproblemyouare
experiencing.IftheTroubleshootinginformationdoesnothelpyouresolveaproblem,continuewiththe
nextstep.
5.Tryusingapreviouslycapturedconfigurationtoseeifarecentchangetohardwareorsoftwaresettings
hascausedaproblem.Beforerestoringapreviousconfiguration,captureyourcurrentconfigurationin
casetheolderconfigurationsettingsdonotsolvetheproblemorhaveadverseeffects.Torestorea
capturedconfiguration,dothefollowing:
ForWindows7:ClickStartControlPanelSystemandSecuritySystemSystem
ProtectionSystemRestore.
ForWindows8orWindows8.1:OpenControlPanel,andthenclickSystemandSecurity
SystemSystemProtectionSystemRestore.
