4.PressEntertofinishconfiguringallthefiveoptions.Whenprompted,pressYtoconfirmthecreationof
thenewRAIDvolume.
5.AfterthenewRAIDvolumeiscreated,theinformationabouttheRAIDvolumewillbedisplayedunder
DISK/VOLUMEINFORMATION,suchasIDnumber,name,RAIDlevel,stripsize,volumesize,status,
andwhetheritisabootablevolume.
DeletingRAIDvolumesusingtheIntelRSTeconfigurationutility
ThissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtousetheIntelRSTeconfigurationutilitytodeleteRAIDvolumes.
TodeleteaRAIDvolume,dothefollowing:
1.EntertheIntelRSTeconfigurationutility.See“EnteringtheIntelRSTeconfigurationutility”onpage82.
2.PresstheupanddownarrowkeystoselectDeleteRAIDVolume.PressEntertoentertheDELETE
VOLUMEMENUwindow.
3.PresstheupanddownarrowkeystoselecttheRAIDvolumethatisnotneeded.PressDeltodeleteit
fromtheRAIDVolumeslist.
4.Whenprompted,pressYtoconfirmthedeletionoftheselectedRAIDvolume.
Resettingharddiskdrivestonon-RAID
Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoresetharddiskdrivestonon-RAID.
Toresetharddiskdrivestonon-RAID,dothefollowing:
1.EntertheIntelRSTeconfigurationutility.See“EnteringtheIntelRSTeconfigurationutility”onpage82.
2.PresstheupanddownarrowkeystoselectResetDiskstoNon-RAID.PressEntertoenterthe
RESETRAIDDATAwindow.
3.Usetheupanddownarrowkeysandthespacekeytomarkindividualharddiskdrivetobereset,
andthenpressEntertocompletetheselection.
4.Whenprompted,pressYtoconfirmtheresetaction.
5.IftheharddiskdriveyouresetispartofaRAIDvolume,thecomputermightdetectthattheRAIDvolume
isdegraded.Inthiscase,youarepromptedtoselectaharddiskdrivetoinitiatearebuildprocess.
6.Selectanavailableharddiskdrive,andthenpressEntertoinitiatetherebuildprocess.
Note:PressEsctocancelarebuildprocessandleavetheRAIDvolumeinthedegradedstatus.Inthe
MainMenuwindowunderDISK/VOLUMEINFORMATION,youwillseethatthestatusoftheRAID
volumehaschangedtoDegraded.
