1.Duringthecomputerstartup,followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
2.PressCtrl+HtoentertheCONTROLLERSELECTIONwindow.
3.Selectthecontrolleryouwanttoconfigure,andthenclickStarttoentertheLSIMegaRAIDBIOS
configurationutility.

ThissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtocreateRAIDvolumesusingtheLSIMegaRAIDBIOS
configurationutility.
TocreateRAIDvolumesusingtheLSIMegaRAIDBIOSconfigurationutility,dothefollowing:
1.ClickConfigurationWizardontheWebBIOSmainscreentoentertheChoosingtheConfiguration
Typewindow.
2.Presstheupanddownarrowkeystoselectoneofthethreeconfigurationtypes:
•ClearConfiguration:Cleartheexistingconfiguration.
•NewConfiguration:Cleartheexistingconfigurationandcreatenewconfiguration.
•AddConfiguration:Retaintheexistingstorageconfigurationandaddnewharddiskdrives.The
newconfigurationwillnotcauseanydataloss.
3.SelectAddConfiguration,andthenclickNext.Thefollowingtwooptionsaredisplayedinthe
ConfigurationMethodwindow.
•ManualConfiguration:Manuallycreateharddiskdrivegroupsandvirtualharddiskdrives,and
setparameters.
•AutomaticConfiguration:AutomaticallycreateanoptimalRAIDconfiguration.
4.SelectManualConfiguration,andthenclickNext.TheDriveGroupDefinitionwindowisdisplayed.To
createharddiskdrivegroups,dothefollowing:
a.Selectoneormoreharddiskdrivesforthegroup(keeppressingCtrlwhileselectingmorethan
oneharddiskdrive).
b.ClickAddToArraytomovetheselectedharddiskdrivestoDriveGroups.
c.ClickAcceptDGtocreatetheharddiskdrivegroup.
d.Repeattheabovestepsifyouwanttocreatemorethanoneharddiskdrivegroup.
5.ClickNext.TheSpanDefinitionwindowisdisplayed.Selecttheharddiskdrivegroupthatyouwant
toaddtoaspan,andthenclickAddtoSPAN.Repeatthisstepuntilyouhaveselectedallthehard
diskdrivegroupsyouwant.
6.ClickNext.TheVirtualDriveDefinitionwindowisdisplayed.Changethevirtualharddiskdriveoptions
fromthedefaultsettingslistedonthescreentothesettingsyouwant.ClickAccept,andthenfollow
theinstructionsonthescreentocustomizeyoursettings.
7.ClickNext,andthePreviewwindowisdisplayed.
8.Verifyyoursettings,andthenclickAccept.
9.ClickYestosavetheconfiguration.
