Replacingthesystemboard
Attention:
Donotopenyourcomputerorattemptanyrepairbeforereadingandunderstanding“ImportantSafetyInformation”

Thissectionprovidesinstructionsonhowtoreplacethesystemboard.
CAUTION:
Theheatsinkandmicroprocessormightbeveryhot.Turnoffthecomputerandwaitthreetove
minutestoletthecomputercoolbeforeremovingthecomputercover.
Toreplacethesystemboard,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandthecomputer.Then,disconnect
allpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtothecomputer.
2.Removethecomputercover.See“Removingthecomputercover”onpage86.
3.Laythecomputeronitssideforeasieraccesstothesystemboard.
4.Removetheharddiskdrivefromthechassis.
5.Removethepowersupplyassemblyfromthechassis.See“Replacingthepowersupplyassembly”on
page111.
6.RemoveallmemorymodulesandPCIcardsthatarecurrentlyinstalled.See“Installingorreplacinga
