You can back up the management processor configuration through the Lenovo XClarity Controller
interface. For details about backing up the management processor configuration, see:
āBacking up the BMC configurationā section in the XCC documentation compatible with your server at
https://pubs.lenovo.com/lxcc-overview/.
Alternatively, you can use the
save command from Lenovo XClarity Essentials OneCLI to create a backup
of all configuration settings. For more information about the save command, see:

On Demand
A processor is equipped with various computing capabilities. Basic capabilities are available at the initial
processor installation, while others remain inactivated. As development environment and tasks evolve,
computing demands may accelerate and require leverage of the previously inactivated processor
capabilities. In such cases, user can select desired processor capabilities and activate them through Intel On
Demand featureāa feature that allows user to customize processor capabilities according to environment
and tasks at hand. The following section specifies system hardware and software requirement, Intel On
Demand enabling and transferring procedures, and list of processor capabilities.
This documentation includes the following sections:
ā¢
āSupported processorā on page 63
⢠āInstallation toolā on page 63
⢠Procedures for āEnabling Intel On Demand Featuresā on page 64
⢠Procedures for āTransferring Intel On Demand Featuresā on page 65
⢠XCC and LXCE OneCLI instructions for:
ā
āReading PPINā on page 65
ā āInstalling Intel On Demand to processorā on page 67
ā āAcquiring and uploading Intel On Demand State Reportā on page 68
ā āChecking the Intel On Demand features installed in a processorā on page 70
Note: Depending on the model, the XCC Web GUI layout may be slightly different from the illustrations in
this document.
Supported processor
Intel On Demand is only supported by Intel On Demand capable processors. For more information on Intel
On Demand capable processors supported by SD530 V3, see
https://lenovopress.lenovo.com/.
Note: All processors in a system must be installed with identical Intel On Demand feature.
Installation tool
Intel On Demand can be installed via Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) and Lenovo XClarity Essentials
OneCLI (LXCE OneCLI). After confirming that your processor supports Intel On Demand, you also need to
make sure the XCC and LXCE OneCLI installed in your system supports installing Intel On Demand.
1. Check if Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) supports installing Intel On Demand (two methods provided):
⢠Via XCC WebGUI
Go to BMC Configuration ā License, if there is a section named On Demand Capabilities for Intel
CPU in the page, it indicates that current XCC supports installing Intel On Demand, otherwise you
need to update XCC firmware to the latest version to ensure it supports installing Intel On Demand.
