In the 4 x 3.5'' chassis configuration, the external LCD cable is an optional part. You can choose either install
or remove the cable according to your actual needs. Refer to the location of external LCD cable from the
front view as below:

Note: Before installing the cable, remove the filler first; after removing the cable, install the filler afterwards.
About this task
The following illustrates how to remove the external LCD cable from the chassis.
Attention:
• Read
“Installation Guidelines” on page 35 and “Safety inspection checklist” on page 36 to ensure that you
work safely.
• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See
“Power off the server” on page 44.
• Prevent exposure to static electricity, which might lead to system halt and loss of data, by keeping static-
sensitive components in their static-protective packages until installation, and handling these devices with
an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding system.

Procedure
Step 1. Remove the top cover. See
“Remove the top cover” on page 150.
Step 2. If the security bezel is installed, remove it. See
“Remove the security bezel” on page 127.
Step 3. Disconnect the external LCD cable from the processor board.
Step 4. To get a better view of the cable connector latch inside the chassis, remove the front I/O module
first.
