Step 4. If you are installing additional memory modules, do so now.
After installing a memory module option:
1. Reinstall the system board air baffle (see
“Install the system board air baffle and the power interposer”
on page 110
) or processor and memory expansion tray and processor and memory expansion tray air
baffle (see
“Install the processor and memory expansion tray on page 112).
2. Install the top cover (see
“Install the top cover” on page 128).
3. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
4. If the server is installed in a rack, reinstall the server into the rack.
5. Power on the server and any peripheral devices.
6. If you have installed a DCPMM, make sure the DCPMM firmware is the latest version. If not, update it to
the latest version (see
https://sysmgt.lenovofiles.com/help/topic/com.lenovo.lxca.doc/update_fw.html).
7. Configure DCPMMs and DRAM DIMMs (see
“Configure Persistent Memory Module (PMem)” on page
139
).
Install a drive backplane
Use this procedure to install a drive backplane.
Before installing a drive backplane:
1. Read the safety information and installation guidelines (see
“Safety” on page iii and “Installation
Guidelines” on page 56
).
2. Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the
server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
To install a drive backplane, complete the following steps:
