1. General Information
The Lexmark™ W812 printer is a mid-range mono laser printer available in two models:
• 4022-100 is a base model of the W812 with 16MB of standard memory and USB/
parallel port connectors.
• 4022-110 is a network model of the W812 with 32 MB of standard memory and USB/
Ethernet 10BaseT/100BaseTX network port connectors.
Product features include:
• A3 support
• 26 ppm
• Memory expandable up to an additional 256MB
• Optional 250-sheet drawer
• Optional 500-sheet drawer
• Optional Unit
The product supports the following operating systems:
• Windows 95/98/Me
• Windows NT 4.0
• Windows 2000
• Windows XP
• Macintosh OS 8.6-9.x
• Macintosh OS X (10.1.2)

Maintenance Approach
The diagnostic information in this manual leads you to the correct field replaceable unit
(FRU) or part. Use the service error codes, user status messages, user error message,
service checks, and diagnostic aids to determine the printer problem and repair the
failure. After you complete the repair, perform tests as needed to verify the repair.

The removal and replacement procedures described in this manual require the following

• Flat-blade screwdriver
• #1 Phillips screwdriver
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• Needlenose pliers
• Diagonal pliers
• Spring hook
