ADF exit sensor service check

1 Make sure the mirror is clean:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Open the ADF front cover.
3. Lift the flap as shown.
Is the mirror clean?
Go to step 2. Slightly dampen a soft, lint-
free cloth with water, and
clean the mirror.

Remove the ADF motor side cover. See
“ADF motor side cover removal” on
page 4-221.
Is the ADF exit sensor cable (A) connected
correctly?
Go to step 3. Reseat the cable in
connector.

Replace the ADF exit sensor. See “ADF exit
sensor (with cable) removal” on
page 4-243.
Did the error clear?
Problem resolved. Contact the next level of
support.
