BRAKE AND PARKING BRAKE
a ) Check braking effort. Check for pull or any abnormal
noise.
b ) With the “ENGINE” switch in the “IG-ON” mode, check
that the brake warning light comes on when the parking
brake is applied (and goes off when it is released).
c) Inspect Parking Brake Pedal Travel
1. Fully depress the parking brake pedal to engage the
parking brake.
2. Depress the pedal again to disengage the parking
brake.
3. Slowly depress the parking brake pedal using the
specifi ed force, and count the number of clicks.
Parking brake pedal travel:
5 to 7 notches at 94 N (30 kgf, 66 lbf)
If parking brake pedal travel is not as specifi ed, adjust the
parking brake shoe clearance and parking brake pedal
travel.

a ) Check the brake pedal height.
Pedal height from tibia pad:
147.1 - 157.1 mm (5.80 - 6.18 in.)
b ) Check the brake pedal free play. Push in the pedal by
hand and check that the pedal free play is within the
specifi cation.
Pedal free play:
1.0 - 6.0 mm (0.04 - 0.24 in.)
