B18. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING
Warm up the engine and turn on the "A/C"
button, and then check for smooth operation
of each control as follows:
Before checking the air conditioning and
heater, press the "CLIMATE" button to dis-
play switches for automatic air conditioning
control.
a ) Press the blower button (Hi) and set the
temperature to "29.4 °C (85 °F)" with the
"TEMP" button.
b ) Press the windshield air flow button and
check that hot air flows out of the front
defroster nozzles.
c ) Set the air flow mode in "FOOT" with the
"MODE" button and check that hot air
flows out of the foot vents.
d ) Check that the air flow volume changes
when the air intake control button is
pressed.
e ) Press the "AUTO" button and the
"4ZONE" button (indicator on) in order
and lower the temperature of the driver's
side with the "TEMP" button.
f ) Check that the display of the air flow
mode and the air flow volume changes
automatically.
g ) Set the temperature of the driver's side
at "18.3 °C (65 °F)".
h ) Check that the temperature of the pas-
senger side remains at "29.4 °C (85 °F)".
i ) Set the air flow mode in "FACE" with the
"MODE" button.
j ) Check that cool air flows out of the driv-
er's side center vent and hot air flows out
of the passenger's side center vent.
k ) Press the "4ZONE" button (indicator off)
and check that cool air flows out of both
center vents.
l ) Check that cool air flows out of the side
vents and the rear console box vent.
m ) Check that the outside temperature dis-
plays.
n ) Press the "OFF" button.
o ) Turn on the rear window defogger switch
and check that the indicator light illumi-
nates.
p ) Turn the pollen removal mode switch
and check that the indicator light illumi-
nates.
