BATTERY
REPLACEMENT

CPU
BOARD)
The
CPU
board
includes
as
part of
the
dieital
microprocessor
circuitry,
a RAM
integrated
crrcuit
that
is
volatile.
Unlike
the
"UP"
and
the
EPROM,
the
RAM
must
have
a
poi/er source
at
all times
to
retain
its
data.
An
on
board
long
life
lithrum
battery
(BT-l)
is
provided
to
ensure
RAM
data
retention
when
the
power
is
turned
off
or
when the
external
power
source
has
been
interrupted.
This
means
that
the
Serres
2000
controller
can
lose
AC
supply
power
without
losing
1ts
memory'
The nominal
3.0
volt
DC battery
is
soldered
onto
the
CPU
board
and
is
capable
of
many
years
of
reliable
service.
If
a battery
should
require
replacement'
the
electronrcs
assernbly
must
be removed
fron
the
controller
case
so
that
the
CPU board
surface
is
accessible.
Carefully
unsolder
the
3 terminals
of
the
battery
using
a low
wattate
iron
and
solder
wicking
braid
to clear
the mountlng
holes.
A
new battery
can
be ordered
from
the
factory
(P/N
525-29)
and
reinstalled
onto
the
printed
circuit
board.
