3.2.2 GSM TRANSMITTER
The GSM Tx paths within the MDM device use small-signal polar, where the phase and envelop signal are
combined at the mixer inside the chip. A GSM linear PA is required for this transmit architecture. An simple
application is shown in below. (MN means matching network, whitch depends upon the operating frequency
range, external front-end devices (regardless of their degree of integration), PCB material and stack-up,
layout details, and matching components used.
