Use
The pumps are equipped with a powerful, reliable and energy-saving motor.
All the pumps in the series can be set up dry. In this case you make sure, however, that the pump is set up lower than the water level.
LIBEL Xtra pond pumps have a ceramic shaft and are therefore suitable for use in saltwater.
Initial operation
Read the operating instructions carefully.
Never let the pump run dry, i.e. without it transporting water. Set the pump up at least 0.15 m and maximum 1 m below the water surface on a sturdy base, free
from mud, sand or other soiling.
This pump is suitable for pumping off water of a temperature of at least 4°C to maximum 35°C.
Safety regulations
The power supply must comply with the specications given for the product. Inquire about the regulations of your local utilities company regarding connection
conditions if necessary. If you nd any damage on the pump or the mains cable, do NOT connect the pump up!
The pump must be connected to a socket with an integrated earthed contact. The respective circuit must be tted with an earthing switch (30mA).
Never use the cable to carry the pump or use it to pull the pump out of the water. Never remove the plug to shorten the cable. Non-adherence to these
instructions will lead to the warranty losing its validity. Always keep the connection (plug and socket) dry.
D – Safety regulations
Pond and lter pumps may only be used in swimming pools, swimming and garden ponds via a fault-current circuit breaker (FI-switch) with a rated fault-current
of 30mA. The pump must not be operated when people are in the swimming pool or garden pond. Contact your local qualied electrician for more information.
The mains cable cannot be replaced. If the cable is faulty, you will have to dispose of the pump.
Maintenance and cleaning
The pump does not require lubrication or any special maintenance work. You only have to check the lter housing for soiling from time to time and clean it if
necessary using clean water. If the pump housing is heavily soiled you will have to remove the housing from the motor unit (bayonet catch) and remove the rotor
carefully. Reassemble the pump in reverse order once you have nished the cleaning work. How often this cleaning work is necessary depends on the respective
application situation.
In winter, make sure that the pump does not freeze up. Remove it from the pond in good time and store it in a frost-free place, for example in a bucket of water.
