Troubleshooting
Condition Potential Causes
Can’t create a
MyKey威
• Key in backup slot is the last remaining admin
key (there always has to be at least one admin key).
• Key in backup slot is a MyKey威.
• Key is not in the backup slot.
• SecuriLock威 passive anti-theft system is disabled
or in unlimited mode.
• Vehicle has been started using a non
Ford-approved remote start system that is
programmed as MyKey威. Refer to Using MyKey威
with remote start systems section.
Cannot program
the MyKey威
optional settings
• Key in backup slot is a MyKey威.
• No MyKeys威 are programmed to the vehicle.

• Vehicle has been started using a non
Ford-approved remote start system that is

Cannot clear
MyKey威
• No MyKeys威 are programmed to the vehicle.

Lost the only
admin key
• Purchase a new key from your authorized dealer.

I accidentally
programmed all
keys as MyKeys威
• Vehicle has a non Ford-approved remote start
system that is recognized as an admin key. Refer to
the Using MyKey威 with remote start systems
section to reset all MyKeys威 as admin keys.
