Install trailer safety chains to the trailer hitch
as recommended by the manufacturer. Cross
the chains under the trailer coupler and allow
enough slack for turning tight corners. Do
not allow the chains to drag on the ground.
If the trailer safety chain hook has a latch,
make sure the latch is fully closed.
TRAILER LIGHTING CHECK
WARNING: Never connect any trailer
lamp wiring to the vehicle's tail lamp wiring;
this may damage the electrical system
resulting in fire. Contact your authorized
dealer as soon as possible for assistance
in proper trailer tow wiring installation.
Additional electrical equipment may be
required.
Perform a trailer light illumination sequence
to confirm that all lights are functioning by
using the vehicle's touchscreen.
Note: The trailer light check feature is
available only in vehicles with trailer
capability. The trailer must be electrically
connected for this feature to function.

Using the Touchscreen
1. From the apps menu, press Towing.
2. Press Trailer Light Check.
3. Press Start.
4. Follow the instructions until the lights
sequence completes.
