What to do if Little Giant Water System pump runs but does not discharge liquid?
- CCasey KnightAug 7, 2025
If your Little Giant Water System pump runs but doesn't discharge liquid, it could be due to a few common issues. First, check if the check valve is installed backwards, ensuring the flow indicating arrow on the valve body points in the correct direction. The check valve might also be stuck or plugged, so remove it and inspect for proper operation. The lift might be too high for the pump, so check the rating table. Another possibility is that the inlet to the impeller is plugged; pull the pump and clean it. Lastly, the pump could be air locked; try shutting the power off for about a minute, then restart, repeating this several times. If your system includes a check valve, a 3/16” hole should be drilled in the discharge pipe approximately 2” above discharge connections.
