3. Page 2-55, paragraph 2.7.13 of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 35D3-3-84-503, to delete
the phrase ‘‘(manual or pneumatic)’’ from the fourth and sixth sentences.
4. Page 2-55, paragraph 2.7.13 of the basic manual is amended, as a result of TO 35D3-3-84-503, to add a
new paragraph 2.7.13A to read as follows:
2.7.13A Engine Handling System. The engine handling system (P/N MA9441-20FJR) is designed to pro-
vide lifting and lowering of an F138 Engine during engine removal and installation. The engine handling
system consists of two 6-ton manual lever hoists, two 3-ton manual lever hoists, four dynamometers, and a
reusable storage/shipping container. The engine handling system is used in combination with the bootstrap
beam and saddle adapter set which attaches to the engine pylon. Two dynamometers attach to the forward
bootstrap beam. The remaining two dynamometers attach to eyelets on the aft bootstrap beam cable. The
two 6-ton hoists are atached to the dynamometers on the forward bootstrap beam. The two 3-ton hoists are
attached to the dynamometers on the aft bootstrap beam. See TO 1C-5M-2-4JG-1-3, Chapter 2.
