12. Erratic operation
The fuel drips from the fuel injector.
Repair or replace (Refer to Sec-
tion 6, Chapter 3 of this Part)
The clearance between the fork and ad-
justing arm is too big; the steel ball and
sliding disk are worn and dented.
Replace (Refer to Section 5,
Chapter 3 of this Part)
The fuel delivery of cylinders is uneven,
and the axial clearance of the fuel in-
jector camshaft is too big.
Repair the fuel delivery uneven-
ness of cylinders to specified
range (Nominal: 10%, Calibrated:
10%; Idling: 30%)
The sliding disk bushing is jammed.
Repair or replace (Refer to Sec-
tion 5, Chapter 3 of this Part)
13. Engine overheat
The water quantity is insufficient or
there is air in the water pipe.
Fill cooling water until the cooling
water level is over 5mm below the
sealing surface of the radiator
cover, or remove the air.
The scale deposit on the water tank and
water passage is too much.
Clean the cooling system with
cleaning solution.
Water pump
assembly or
fan belt
There is water leakage from the water
pump or the fan belt is loosened.
Change the water pump or adjust
the belt tension (Through applying
a force about 98N to the middle
part of the belt, the sag is (7-9)
mm for a new belt, and (11-13)
mm for a used belt).
The thermostat cannot be actuated nor-
mally.
