21. The diesel engine is started difficultly
The fuel quantity is insufficient.
The sediment bowl switch is off.
1. There is air or water in the fuel sys-
tem;
2. There is fuel leakage from the low
pressure fuel line connection.
1. Release the air or water, or re-
place the diesel.
2. Fasten the connection or replace
it with a new one.
The fuel line or filter is blocked.
Clean the pipeline, or replace the
filter element.
Fuel delivery
pump, fuel
injection
pump
The fuel delivery pump or fuel injec-
tion pump cannot deliver fuel or the
fuel supply advance angle is inappro-
priate.
Overhaul the fuel delivery pump,
fuel injection pump or adjust the
fuel supply advance angle.
The atomization effect obtained by the
fuel injector is poor.
Repair or replace (Refer to Section
6, Chapter 3 of this Part)
The fuel delivery valve, or plunger and
barrel assembly of the fuel injection
pump is worn.
Grind or change it (Refer to Section
5, Chapter 3 of this Part)
