Why won't the start motor turn on my LS tractor when I turn the key?

The start motor may fail to turn when you turn the key in your LS tractor due to several reasons: the start safety switch may not be contacted, so depress the clutch pedal fully; the PTO switch may not be in the “OFF” position, so place the PTO switch in the “OFF” position; the battery may be discharged, so charge or replace it; the terminal may be loosened, so tighten it; the key switch may have failed, so repair or replace it; or the start motor itself may have failed, so repair or replace it.
