Overview

This document outlines the assembly, operation, and troubleshooting for the Kontrol Height Adjustable Console by Lund Halsey.

Function Description:

The Kontrol Height Adjustable Console is a sophisticated workstation designed to allow users to adjust the height of the worktop to their preferred ergonomic position. It features multiple bays for equipment, integrated cable management, and a control system that facilitates smooth and precise height adjustments. The console is built with a focus on stability, durability, and user convenience, ensuring that weight is distributed evenly across the worktop and that all components are securely fastened. The height adjustment mechanism is powered by actuators (lifting columns) controlled by a LINAK Control Box and Paddle, enabling both upward and downward movement of the worktop. The system also includes features for setting height limits and saving favorite positions, catering to individual user preferences and preventing collisions with surrounding objects.

The current unit flashes in the display. When "CM" flashes, tilt the paddle once to change to "INCH". Press any button to confirm or wait 10 seconds for automatic confirmation.
  • Cable Management: Integrated cable management chains allow for organized routing of power and data cables from the PDU through the leg into the bay sections, ensuring a clean and safe workspace.

Maintenance Features:

  • Assembly Method Guidelines: Emphasizes careful assembly, even weight distribution, proper cable management (through channels, not under the frame), and avoiding rapid paddle adjustments.
  • Leveling: The console must be leveled left to right and front to back during installation using adjustable feet and a spirit level. This is crucial for correct alignment and function.
  • Post-Assembly Movement: The desk should not be moved once fully assembled and should not be lifted via the worktops.
  • Obstruction Prevention: No items should be left on the rear sub top to prevent obstructions when the console is lowered. Users should also be careful not to trap chairs when lowering the worktop.
  • Power Safety: Mains power to the control box must be turned off before fitting or removing actuator or paddle cables.
  • Initialization ("Reset"): This procedure (P1) is a common solution for troubleshooting, especially when the desk moves down but not up. It involves holding the "Down" button to retract the desk to its lower limit, briefly releasing, then holding "Down" again for 5 seconds.
  • Cable Connection Checks (P2): Regular checks of mains, motor, and desk panel cables are recommended to ensure they are properly connected and not damaged.
  • Obstruction Checks (P3): Users should regularly check for obstructions under, above, and on the sides of the desk that could impede movement.
  • Error Code Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive list of error codes (E01-E94) with descriptions, potential causes, and troubleshooting steps. These codes cover issues such as position loss, overload, short circuits, power limits, key errors, safety feature issues, channel missing/mismatch, pulse failures, anti-collision triggers, and connection problems with master/slave units.
  • Component Replacement: Troubleshooting steps often suggest isolating and replacing faulty components like motor cables, desk legs, or the control box if issues persist after basic checks and initialization.
  • Software Updates: For certain errors (e.g., E17 Safety missing), updating the desk panel software may be required.
