TROUBLE-SHOOTING O-360 AND ASSOCIATED MODELS
TROUBLE PROBABLE CAUSE REMEDY
Failure of Engine to Idle Properly Incorrect idle mixture Adjust mixture.
Leakin the induction system Tighten all connections in the
induction system. Replace any
parts that are defective.
Incorrect idle mixture Adjust throttle stop to obtain
correct idle.
Uneven cylinder compression Checkcondition of piston rings
and valve seats.
Faulty ignition system Checkentire ignition system.
Insufficient fuel pressure Adjust fuel pressure.
Low Power and Uneven Running Mixture too rich indicated by Readjustment of fuel injector or
sluggish engine operation, red carburetor by authorized
exhaust flame at night. Extreme personnel is indicated.

Mixture too lean indicated by Checkfuel lines for dirt or other
overheating or backfiring restrictions. Readjustment of fuel
injector or carburetor by author-
ized personnel is indicated.
Leaks in induction system Tighten all connections. Replace
defective parts.
Defective sparkplugs Clean and gap or replace spark
plugs.
Improper fuel Fill tankwith fuel of recom-
mended grade.
Magneto breaker points not Clean points. Checkinternal
working properly timing of magnetos.
Defective ignition wire Checkwire with electric tester.
Replace defective wire.
Defective sparkplug terminal Replace connectors on sparkplug
connectors wire.
