Mould Guide – Alignment and Use: The Mag 25 features an adjustable mould guide designed to accommodate various mold brands (Lyman, RCBS, Saeco, Lee). The guide has two steps on its rails to fit different molds. Adjustment involves loosening wing nuts to position the mold below the drain spout, leaving about 1/4" space, and then tightening. Side-to-side alignment with the sprue plate hole is achieved by loosening a bolt at the back of the guide. An adjustable mould stop allows users to position the mold accurately under the drain spout for consistent filling, especially with multiple-cavity molds.
Bottom Pour System: The shut-off rod limit screw controls the height the shut-off rod can be lifted, thereby regulating the flow rate of molten lead from the spout. Users can adjust this screw to achieve the optimal flow rate for their specific mold.
Adding Lead: When adding cold lead, the "PV" display will show a temperature drop, and the furnace will automatically reheat to the set temperature.
Initial Use: Before first use, it is recommended to turn on the empty furnace and set it to the desired temperature for 10-15 minutes in a well-ventilated area (preferably outdoors) to burn off any protective oil, as the unit may smoke initially.

Maintenance Features:

Cleaning the Shut-Off Valve: Dripping from the valve can occur due to dirt or grit in the molten lead. Fully opening the valve can often clear debris. If not, the furnace should be drained, allowed to cool, and the shut-off rod removed and cleaned.
Clearing Clogged Drain Spout: If the drain spout is seriously clogged, the furnace should be heated to melting temperature. An unbent paperclip can then be used with pliers to feed through the drain spout to dislodge obstructions. Heat-resistant gloves and eye protection are essential during this process.

- Always wear basic safety garb: long pants, long sleeves, sturdy gloves, eye protection, and closed-toe shoes.
- Keep flammable items away from the casting area and do not operate the unit on flammable surfaces.

- Never pick up or tip the furnace when hot.
- Do not cast when distracted.

- Use caution when adding bullet metal to molten metal to avoid splashing.
