Ground Check and Run Up
Warm Up ................................................1000 - 1200 RPM avoid prolonged idle at low RPM
Oil ...........................................................CHECK TEMPERATURE & PRESSURE
Ignition Check ........................................2000 RPM Both-L-Both-R-Both. Max drop 175 RPM, less
than 50 RPM difference
Propeller Check ......................................1500 RPM cycle prop control 3 times if cold, less than
500 RPM drop
Idle Check ..............................................500 - 800 RPM throttle fully closed
Throttle ..................................................1000 - 1200 RPM
Trim ..................................................SET for loading conguration
Mixture ..................................................FULL RICH or as required for eld elevation
Propeller .................................................FULL FINE
Cowl Flap ...............................................CONFIRM OPEN
Master Switches Bus 1 and Bus 2 .........ON
Magnetos ...............................................BOTH
Fuel Shutoff Valve ..................................CONFIRM PUSHED IN
Fuel Quantity ..........................................CHECK sufcient for task
Fuel Pump ..............................................ON light on
Flaps ..................................................SET to TAKE OFF (14°)
Instruments ............................................SET & CHECK ALL alternate static normal (if tted)
Switches .................................................SELECTED as required
Caution light panel ................................PRESS TO TEST
Circuit Breakers ......................................CHECK
Controls ..................................................FULL & FREE MOVEMENT, CORRECT SENSE
Hatches ..................................................CLOSED & LOCKED
Harnesses ..............................................SECURE all seat belts correctly fastened and adjusted

Mixture ...................................................FULL RICH see amplied procedures
Propeller .................................................FULL FINE (FULL INCREASING RPM)
Throttle ...................................................OPEN – monitor and limit power to
40 in Hg MAP/2500 RPM below 5000 ft pressure altitude and
38 in Hg MAP/2500 RPM above 5000 ft pressure altitude
Brakes ....................................................RELEASE
Elevator Control .....................................NEUTRAL
Directional Control ..................................NOSE WHEEL STEERING & RUDDER
Rotate .....................................................REFER TO TAKE-OFF CHART in Section 5
Take-Off Safety Speed ...........................REFER TO TAKE-OFF CHART in Section 5
MAINTAIN TAKE-OFF SAFETY SPEED to obstacle
clearance height
