Tilt the timpani back onto its side, resting on its rear leg feet for stability.
Pull the knob to unlock the front leg, rotate to playing position, and extend until it locks.
Pull front leg upwards slightly while pulling knob to unlock and fold legs into storage position.
Place timpani upright, then pull handle 2 down to unlock the rear leg.
Unfold the rear leg until it automatically clicks securely into its playing position.
When not in use, reduce the tension on the timpani head to its minimum.
Cover the timpani with a protective cover when it is not in use to prevent dust accumulation.
Lift the timpani by the legs when moving or transporting to avoid affecting tuning performance.
Tune/install head with pedal at lowest note, using equal screw rotations in specified order.
Replace timpani heads with the same model every 1-2 years for optimal performance.
