CLEAN Driver's cab
NB: The frequency of cleaning is given as an example.
IMPORTANT
Do not use a high pressure cleaner or water jet.
Take precautions with electrical and electronic components.
- Clean the inside of the overhead guard using a small brush, a vacuum cleaner and a cloth.
BLEED Fuel supply system
This series of operations is to be performed in the following cases:
• A component of the supply circuit is replaced or drained.
• The tank is drained.
• The fuel has run out.
IMPORTANT
Any contact with fuel under high pressure may penetrate the skin and cause burns.
Spraying fuel under high pressure can cause a fire.
Failure to follow the inspection and maintenance instructions may result in serious injury.
Never work on the high pressure system.
Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious damage to the engine.
The high pressure fuel system must be adjusted and repaired only by approved and suitably trained technicians.
Ensure that the level of fuel in the tank is sufficient and bleed in the following order:
BLEEDING THE FUEL FILTER
- Open the engine cover.
- Open the fuel filter tap 1 in position A.
- Unscrew bleeder screw 2.
- Manually operate the fuel pump with lever 3.
- Retighten the bleeder screw 2 when there are no more bubbles.
- Open the vent plug 4 at the top of the injection pump.
- Manually operate the fuel pump with lever 3.
- Close the vent plug 4 when there are no more bubbles.
REPLACE Battery
PROCEDURE IN THE EVENT OF BATTERY FAILURE
IMPORTANT
Operate the battery cut-off no less than 30 seconds after turning off the ignition with the ignition key.
Handling and servicing a battery can be dangerous, take the following precautions:
- Wear protective goggles.
- Keep the battery horizontal.
- Never smoke or work near a naked flame.
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
- In the event of electrolyte being spilled onto the skin or splashed in the eyes, rinse thoroughly with cold water for 15
minutes and call a doctor.
- Open the side cover.
- Bring a back-up battery of the same type as the one used for the lift truck, together
with battery cables.
- Connect the back-up battery, respecting the polarity (-) (+).
- Start the lift truck and remove the cables as soon as the engine is running.
- Change the battery 1.
