7.19.6 Renewing the corrosion protection
Protective agent,
tools
– Spray gun with spray extension.
–Brush.
– Protective clothing, protective goggles.
Prerequisites – The undercarriage of the truck crane has been thoroughly cleaned.
– The truck crane must be raised on outriggers or parked over an inspec-
tion pit.
– The engine must not be running and must be secured against unauthor-
ised use; à p. 2 - 3.
Checks At the factory, the underside of the carrier was sprayed with corrosion
protection for the first time.
The corrosion protection is solvent-free and is water soluble while being
sprayed on. A transparent, waxy, protective film is formed after a drying
time of one hour.
• Check the condition of the original protective film.
• If required, remove any rust and touch up the paintwork before you spray
on a new protective film.
Processing
instructions
• Observe the processing instructions for corrosion protection:
– Working temperature: above 10 °C (50 °F).
– Removability before drying: with water.
– Removability before drying: with test petrol.
– Drying time: 1 hour.
