Passive and Active Safety
System
Passive Safety
The passive safety system is intended
to reduce the risk of suffering serious
injuries in the event of an accident.
Safety belts and load limiter, airbags
and other auxiliary components of the
occupant restraint systems described in
the specific chapters of this section are
essential components of this system.
In addition to these components, the
body with controlled deformation is of
fundamental importance for passive
safety. It is able to absorb the energy
that develops during an impact and
distribute it over the entire structure with
consequent progressive deceleration of
the vehicle.
To protect the occupants in these
situations, the passenger compartment
is a survival cell capable of maintaining
maximum resistance without deforming.
Active Safety
The active safety system aims to prevent
accidents or reduce their severity. To
achieve this, it uses the following
