Retractable Hard Top (RHT)
(Valid for MC20 Cielo only)
The retractable hard top (RHT) system
consists of the following main moving
parts:
1 a Hard Top;
2 a tonneau cover;
3 backlite.
NOTE:
The front element is composed
by a glass with PDLC technology
that allows the user to switch form
transparent to opaque glass in less
than 1 second using the soft-key con
the MIA screen (see “Functions of
Controls Menu on MIA” in chapter
“Instruments and Controls”).
The PDLC glass is operable in all
temperature ranges from -30
°
C to
85
°
C (-22
°
F to 185
°
F).
Hazy glass is the default status; when
the roof is in transparent mode, at
every key off it will return in hazy glass
status.
When the roof is open, the
electrochromic glass is not available
and the soft-key is grayed.
Opening and closing is actuated by an
electric system that is controlled by
a number of sensors that check every
stage of opening and closing.
By hard top “opening”
we mean folding the
hard top into the rear
engine compartment.
By hard top “closing”
we mean the opposite.
The conditions required for opening and
closing the RHT system are as follows:
the instrument cluster must be
switched on (KEY-ON);
NOTE:
We recommend operating the RHT
system with the engine running.
luggage compartment lid closed
properly;
the battery voltage must not be below
11 volts;
If one or more conditions are not met,
the RHT system cannot be operated and
a warning message will appear on the
instrument cluster.
NOTE:
Check that there is sufficient vertical
clearance to open the RHT system.
After a software update or a
disconnection of the battery, always
open and close the RHT and the
Backlite Rear Screen to initialize the
systems.
Precautions
Before and during the hard top operation
observe the following precautions.
