Understanding the Vehicle
WARNING!
•
When closing the hard top, never
start driving before the hard top has
completed the closing cycle and has
locked on the windshield frame.
•
Only open or close the hard top when
the vehicle is stationary, otherwise
it might not fully open or close. For
example, if you start moving the hard
top when you are standing at a traffic
light and you start driving before the
hard top has completed its opening or
closing cycle, you can complete the
operation by driving slowly (do not
exceed 31 mph (50 km/h) + 31 mph
(50 km/h) of wind) and holding the
hard top movement soft-key pushed
until the process has been completed.
Driving with the hard top partially open
could be a risk for the occupants and
the other vehicles nearby.
Opening the RHT system
NOTE:
Before opening the RHT system, make
sure the RHT is dry to prevent water
entering the passenger compartment or
hard top compartment.
The hard top must be opened and closed
with the vehicle stationary and, as a rule,
with the engine running at idle speed. To
move the hard top, enter the “Spyder”
menu as described in “Functions of
Controls Menu on MIA” on the MIA
screen, or use the shortcut in the “Home”
page or touch the “Spyder” soft-key on
the Main Status Bar.
Press the soft-key and hold it pressed
for the entire opening cycle.
The hard top will perform the following
steps which are also shown on the MIA
screen:
• the side windows and backlite rear
screen are fully lowered;
• the Tonneau cover is opened;
• the RHT system part is positioned in the
hard top compartment;
• the Tonneau cover is closed;
• the backlite rear screen is raised until it
reaches the set height;
• the side windows are raised.
NOTE:
• While the RHT system is being opened,
you cannot operate the side windows,
the backlite rear screen and the trunk.
• If the RHT system is opened, the audio
system reconfigures itself to ensure the
best listening experience. Any mute,
previously set, will not be maintained
and must be manually set again by the
user.
• The opening time of the RHT is about
12 seconds.
• The roof controls are grayed if the
system detects a fail.
The movement cycle can be interrupted
at any time by releasing the soft-key.
Closing the RHT system
Press the soft-key and hold it pressed
for the entire closing cycle. The hard top
will perform the following steps which
are also shown on the MIA screen:
