Engine compartment lid
Engine compartment lid
To open the engine compartment lid:
pull lever A located on the lower left-
hand side of the dashboard.
Disengage the safety device by lifting
the lever B shown in the figure.
Lift the lid: this operation is facilitated
by two gas struts.
The lid positions itself at the maximum
opening position and does not require
support stays.
To close the lid: lower it to about 8 in.
(20 cm) from the engine compartment
and let it drop; it will close
automatically.
Always check that the engine
compartment lid is properly
closed, to prevent it from
opening while travelling.
Gearshifting is always active
and may be performed even
when one or more doors, the
engine compartment lid or the
luggage compartment lid are open.
Therefore, in these conditions, take
great care to avoid moving the
gearshift lever and so accidentally
engage gears.
