bearing and seal in axle housings

over axles against thrust bearing and
seal as shown in Fig.

1. Remove
bolts
securing
differential to-
gether
and separate
the
unit. See
Fig. 52.
2.
lnspect
all
parts
for
wear or
damage.
Replace as required.
The
pinions,
cores and side
gears
are
inter-
changeable,
the ring
gear
is nondirectional, the
differential carriers
and axles are different. Dur-
ing installation
the carrier
with the
long
hub must
be
installed
on the longest
axle
shaft.
3.
lnstall
cores into
ring
gear
with tabs on
cores
in
same
groove
of ring
gear.
