Jack, RCA or even XLR-3 type), then you
should follow the next procedure:
Output from the Mixer with a
Female XLR-3 connector
Keep Pin 2 as the positive pole (red) and
Jump (cross) Pins 1 and 3 to the Shield
(ground).
At the other end of the cable, if the
connector is Jack-type or RCA, the positive
pole has to be connected to the Tip and the
Shield to the Body of the connector. If an
XLR connector (male in this case) is also
required, but NON-Balanced, the exact
polarity of the signal-receiving device must
previously be known in order to carry out
the appropriate connections on the 3
connector pin. This has to be done because
there are two Standards: the one already
mentioned (Pin 2+) and another variant that
gives the + pole to Pin 3, keeping Pin 2 as
Ground.
The next available output is the one called
OUT level 2 (M1262), which includes an
RCA-type connector, that is unbalanced
(asymmetrical). The connection here may
be done using an ordinary cable (shield and
positive pole) for each of the channels. This
output may be useful for Monitoring the
Program signal (identical to the one heard
on the main equipment). It may also be
used to give sound to another hall, away
from the main hall, but using the same
Program.
To Record, there is an output (REC) which
requires RCA connector.
Another output is the AUX, also equipped
with RCA connectors.
Finally there is an essential output for the
monitoring of the Previous mix (PFL) or
11
the Program (PGM) through Headphones
(HEADPHONES) by using the connection
in the Stereo ¼" Jack format. Whenever
any of the PFL keys is pressed, we shall
automatically hear the signal corresponding
to the "tapped" channel (Pre-Monitoring
before entering into the Mix or into the
Program, while the previous input level is
also displayed on the VU-Meter).
5-CONNECTION TO THE MAINS
SUPPLY
The mixers are connected to the mains
supply by using the cable included. It is
connected to the base foreseen for this
purpose at the rear part of the equipment.
The power supply needed is 220/230V,
with grounding. The equipment is turned
on using the POWER switch. As soon as
the switch is handled, a delayed connection
circuit is activated, thus protecting the other
elements in the System from any
overloading or any instantaneous electrical
discharge which may take place due to the
connection to the Mains.
6-MAINTENANCE
The only thing we must really be careful
with is that, although the serigraphy
techniques used in the front part illustration
have excellent hardness properties, abrasive
cleaning products must not be used. Just
use a damp cloth to eliminate any dusty
particles.
Avoid exposing the equipment to moisture
and prevent any liquid spilling upon it. If
not, there is the risk of producing a short-
circuit which may be dangerous for the
health of the person handling the
equipment.
If there is any symptom of surface
moisture, unplug the equipment from the
Mains supply and then clean and dry it
before using it again.
We must point out that, despite the
excellent quality of the potentiometers
used, these may suffer natural wear due to
excessive use.
We do not recommend the use of Spray
products for cleaning under any
circumstances.
7-WARRANTY
We provide ONE-YEAR warranty against
all manufacturing defects or faulty
components including labour and cost of
return transport to the user.
Keep with you the purchasing invoice. The
purchasing invoice, well stamped by the
dealer, is the proof of warranty for this
equipment.
