Marine Growth
If accelerated marine growth is a problem in the area in which
the boat will generally be operated, an anti-fouling bottom paint
may be necessary to slow growth while protecting the gel coat.
Before selecting a bottom paint, talk with other boaters and an
authorized Aviara dealer’s service department to determine the
product that works best in the area. Many local variables may
also affect the selection of paint. Be sure to follow the paint
manufacturer’s directions exactly.
Be sure all fasteners used are approved and rated for marine use.
Most fasteners used on Aviara boats are stainless steel or specially
coated to resist corrosion.
Use of improper parts may cause component or engine failure. Such
failure may result in death or serious injury!
Exposure to salt water will cause corrosion leading to significant
damage to stainless steel, chrome and anodized aluminum parts.
Failure to thoroughly rinse salt water from all hardware, and to apply
protective oil after each exposure to salt water, will accelerate the
corrosion of hardware and will void your warranty.
