Usage Features:

General Use:

  • The car seat is intended for car use only and is designed for intensive use over approximately 12 years.
  • Before purchase, ensure compatibility with your vehicle. A complete list of compatible cars can be found on www.maxi-cosi.com/car-fitting-list.
  • Always read the vehicle's instruction manual before installing and using the car seat, as it will indicate compatible seating positions.
  • Do not use any load-bearing contact points other than those described in the instructions and marked on the child restraint.

Child Positioning (40-105 cm, max. 18 kg):

  • Rearward-facing: Mandatory for children from 40 cm up to a minimum of 15 months (up to 75 cm) for optimal safety. Maxi-Cosi recommends using it rearward-facing up to 105 cm (approx. 4 years) for significantly improved head and neck protection.
  • Installation: Must be installed with ISOFIX connectors and the support leg.
  • Harness: Use the 5-point harness.
  • Newborn Inlay: The included newborn inlay is crucial for children from 40 to 60 cm. It must be used exclusively with the Emerald 360 S seat and reinserted correctly after washing. Remove the inlay when the child's length exceeds 60 cm.
  • Harness Adjustment: Ensure no more than one finger (1 cm) fits between the harnesses and the child. Tighten the harness further if there is more space.
  • Headrest Adjustment: Adjust the headrest to the proper height.
  • Support Leg: When used, the support leg must always be fully unfolded, locked, and placed in the most forward position.
  • Recline: It is MANDATORY to recline the car seat when the child is traveling in the rearward-facing position.

Child Positioning (76-105 cm, >15 months, max. 18 kg):

  • Forward-facing: Can be installed in a forward-facing position with the 5-point harness when the child is between 76 cm and 105 cm and older than 15 months.

Child Positioning (100-150 cm, max. 36 kg):

  • Forward-facing: Can be installed using only the vehicle's 3-point safety belt or with both the vehicle belt and ISOFIX connectors.
  • Support Leg: The support leg must be folded and locked under the car seat when the child uses the vehicle safety belt.
  • Recline: It is prohibited to recline the car seat when the child is using the vehicle safety belt.

Safety Warnings:

  • It is prohibited to adjust the seat position while traveling.
  • The car seat must always be locked in either the forward-facing or rearward-facing position when traveling. DO NOT travel when the car seat is rotated to a lateral (loading) position or any other unlocked intermediate position.
  • If using the car seat in a rearward-facing position on the front seat, it is mandatory to deactivate the passenger airbag. It is advised to move the vehicle seat back to its maximum rearward position (consult your car manual).
  • The car seat should only be used on a front-facing seat equipped with an automatic or static 3-point belt approved according to ECE R16 or similar. DO NOT use a 2-point belt.
  • When installed in the maximum rearward-facing position, the child restraint system may not fit in all approved vehicles. Check that all possible positions (recline and headrest adjustment) fit in your car.
  • Spaces between the car seat base and the vehicle seat may occur depending on the anchorage points in the vehicle.

Maintenance Features:

  • The seat cover, headrest cover, shoulder pads, crotch pad, and newborn inlay can be removed for washing.
  • If any cover needs to be replaced, only use official Maxi-Cosi covers, as they are an integral part of the restraint system's performance.
  • Washing instructions typically indicate a 30°C wash cycle. Do not use bleach, tumble dry, iron, or dry clean.
