1. Turn the ignition switch to START
without

NOTE
The starter will not operate . . .
S If the gearshift selector lever is
not in P (Park) or N (Neutral)
(automatic), or
S If the clutch pedal is not pushed
down all the way (manual).
2. Release
the key as soon as the engine
starts

After starting the engine, let it idle
for a few seconds.
Keep your foot on the pedal and put
the gearshift lever in gear. Release
the
parking brake. Slowly release
the
brake pedal and drive away in the
normal manner.
NOTE
Whether cold or warm, the engine
should be started without use of the
accelerator
