Constant Monitoring
These

monitored by the
air bag system warning light or beeper:
S SRS units
S Air bag modules
S Related wiring
S Warning lights
A
diagnostic
monitor continuously mon

itors
the system’
s readiness. This begins
when the ignition is turned on and con-
tinues while the vehicle is being driven.
t Warning light
If
the air bag system is OK, the
warning
light comes on when the ignition is
turned
on or after the engine is cranked.
After about 6 seconds it goes out.
WARNING
System Problems:
A problem with the system is indi-
cated by one or more of the
follow
-
ing: the readiness light will either
flash
or stay lit, or it will
not light, or
a
group of five beeps will be heard.

system
may not work in an
accident
and

Because hidden damage may dis-
