SAFETY - DANGER, WARNING AND
CAUTION
Wheneveryouseethewordsandsymbolsshownbelow,
usedinthisbookandondecals,youMUSTtakenoteof
theirinstructionsastheyrelatetopersonalsafety.
DANGER: The symbol and the word DANGER
indicate an imminently hazardous situation
which, if not avoided, will result in DEATH
OR VERY SERIOUS INJURY.
WARNING: The symbol and the word WAR-
NING indicate a potentially hazardous
situation. If the instructions or procedures
are not correctly followed, it could result in
DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY IN EXTREME
CASES.
CAUTION: The word CAUTION indicates a limited risk
situation which, if not avoided, will result in MATERIAL
DAMAGES AND/OR MINOR INJURIES.
IMPORTANT:Theword IMPORTANTisusedtoidentify
special instructions or procedures which, if not strictly
observed,couldresultindamageto,ordestructionofthe

actuallocationoftheseSafetyDecalsisillustratedatthe
endofthissection.
If a second-hand tractor has been purchased, refer to
theillustrationsattheendofthissectiontoensurethat
allthesafetywarningdecalsareinthecorrectposition
andreadable.
SAFETY - FOLLOWING A SAFETY
PROGRAM
Safe use of the tractor
Onlyqualifiedandauthorizedoperatorsareabletouse
farmingtractorsinsafety.Tobequalifiedyoumustunder-
standthewritteninstructionssuppliedinthisOperator
InstructionBook,havetrainingintheworkarea,andknow
thesafetyrulesandregulationsforthejob.
Someregulationsstat,forinstance,thatnooneyounger
than18 may use machines with engines (according to
European directives). Tractors are such machines. It is
yourresponsibilitytoknowtheseregulationsandcomply
withthemintheareaorthesituationinwhichthetractor
isused.
Suchregulationsinclude,withoutlimitation,thefollowing
instructionsforasafeuseofthetractor.
WARNING: The operator must not be under
influence of alcohol or drugs that can im-
pair his/her coordination or alert conditions.
An operator under prescription for narcotic
drugs needs a medical certificate stating if
he/she is able to use the tractor safely.
Take the following precautions:
• Donotallowchildrenorunauthorizedpersonstodrive
oruseyourtractor.Keepothersawayfromyourarea
ofwork.
• Fasten your seat belt if the tractor is fitted with an
uprightsafetyframeoracab.
• Wheneverpossible,donotoperatethetractornear
ditches,pitsorholesintheground.Slowdownwhen
steering, driving on slopes or driving over rough,
slipperyormuddyterrain.
• Keepclearfromslopestoosteeptooperatesafely.
• Drivecarefully,speciallyonheadlands,onroad,near
aditchandaroundtrees.
• Never let anyone else get on to the tractor or the
implement.
• Hitch only to the drawbar and recommended hitch
points.Neverhitchabovethecentrallineoftherear
axle.
• Operatethetractorsmoothly,withnosuddenturns,
startsorstops.Applytheparkingbrakewheneverthe
tractorisstopped.
• Do not remove or alter any part of the equipment
oroftheguards.Donotusethetractorifthesafety
frameisremovedordamaged.Neveruseattachments
thatarenotdesignedforyourtractor.
