5. Economy PTO.
AsshownintheOperationandMaintenanceManual,
theeconomyPTOonlargetractorsisafeaturethat
makesitpossibletousethePTOatstandardspeed
usinglowerengineRPMrates.
Thisfeaturecanonlybeusedwhentheimplements
powered by the PTO are to be used only for light
operations, such as for sprinklers or rakes, which
requirelessthan30H.P.
TheeconomyPTOdoesnotneedtousethemaximum
poweroftheenginebutitisdesignedtosavefuel.
WhenusingtheEconomyPTO,makesurethatthe
implementinputshaftRPMNEVERexceedsthe
recommendedRPMfortheimplement,e.g.max.
610RPMfora6splineshaft(540RPM),andmax.
1170RPMfora21splineshaft(1000RPM).
6. Working on slopes.
The Operation and Maintenance Manual provides
informationonusingthetractoronslopesinasafe
manner
It is also important to note that, when working on
very steep slopes, the lubrication conditions in the
transmission may be reduced. This is caused by
theoilflowing towardsthefrontor rearpartofthe
transmissionunit.
Special measures and extra lubrication may be re-
quiredwhenusingthetractorunderextremecondi-
tions.
Yourdealerwillbeabletoassistyouifyouexpectto
workonslopesofover15°.
7. Remote hydraulic controls.
Thehydraulicsystemofthetractormaybeusedin
someparticularapplicationstooperatethehydraulic
motors.
Whenusingtheseapplications,notethatthehydraulic
motors can generate considerable heat and the oil
coolingsystemofthe tractor may not besufficient
whenthesehigh-powerhydraulicmotorsareused.
Someremoteapplicationshaveanextracoolingsys-
tem.However,everytimetheyareused,makesure
thattheoiliscooledandfilteredsufficientlyinorder
toavoiddamagetothetractor'shydraulicsystem.
8. Towing heavy loads (trailers, etc.)
Whenheavyloadsaretowed,theroadrulesinsome
countries require a supplementary braking system
(e.g.airorhydraulictrailerbrakes).
Check with your dealer possible additional require-
mentsforspecialspplications
9. Operating a dry-disc clutch.
Mosttractorswithamanualgearshiftareequipped
withadry-discclutchforchanginggear.
Sincetheclutchslipseverytimethegearischanged,
itcancauseacertainamountofwearandthuscre-
ateheat.Toensurelonglifefortheclutch,itisthus
advisabletoreducetheloadofthetractorandreduce
engine speed when starting up the tractor from a
standingposition.
Prolonged slipping at high engine speed with large
loadswill causethe clutchdisctoheatup,thereby
reducingitsworkinglife.
10. Further instructions for the operator.
The Operation and Maintenance Manual provides
instructionstoensurethatthetractorisalwaysused
insafeconditions.
Ifyourtractorisalsodrivenbyotherpeople,makesure
thattheyarefullyawareoftheseaccidentprevention
instructions.
Itisforbiddentocarryanyoneontheouterstructure
ofthetractorinanycircumstances.
Thisisbecausethesafetyframethatprotectsagainst
overturningisonlydesignedtoprotectpersonsinside
thecaborroll-overprotectionstructure.
11.Chemical filters for the cab. [4.5.c]
Useofafilterwithchemicalabsorbentinair-condi-
tionedcabscanincreasethedegreeofprotectionin
certainapplications.
PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT MAY BE
HOWEVER NECESSARY WHEN USING CHEMICAL
SUBSTANCES.
Washthetractoranddriver’sseataccuratelyaccord-
ingtothedirectionsontheproductlabel.
ALWAYSfollowtheinstructionsonthelabelsofthe
chemicalsubstancesandonthefilterstobeused.
