Operation as pH-level-meter
To assess the pH-level the device hast o be turned „off“. Turn the rotary switch all the way to the right
until it engages at point „PH“.
Put the probe up to the rubber stop into the checking water.
Wait until the indicator stops. Now you can read the actual value of the pH-level on the upper scale.
If necessary add soda or acid and repeat the measuring.
The recommended pH-level for swimmingpools is 7.2 to 7.8 ppm.
Operation as Chlorine-level-meter
Before measuring the chlorine-level for the first time you have calibrate the device for yor swimmingpool as
follows:
Measure the chlorine-level of your poolwater with a coventional liquid test kit and keep the actual value
in mind
Insert the 1.5 V battery into the battery compartment of the device.
Put the probe up to the rubber stop into the checking water.
Stir the checking water a little bit with the probe.
Turn the rotary switch to the left until it hits the point „CL“.
With the probe in water turn the rotary switch back to the right slowly until the indicator hits the
chlorine-level-value you have already measured before manually.
If you take the probe out of the water now the indicator will continue to move to the right until it stops
on one letter of the scale A to E. This letter is your adjustment point.
To measure the actual chlorine-level of your pool you have to do as follows:
Switch-on the device.
Use the rotary switch to put the indicator on the adjustment point on the scale A to E. Start every
chlorine-level-measuring by doing this!
Immerse the probe up to the rubber stop into the checking water.
Wait until the indicator stops. Now you can read actual value of the chlorine-level on the lower scale.
The recommended chlorine-level for swimmingpools is 1.2 to 1.7 ppm.
The cleaning of the probe.
Use the extra fine sandpaper, provided with your device, to rub off all residua from the metal of the
probe gently.
Afterwards you need to clean the probe in some soap-water.
Then you dry the probe with a clean soft tissue.
Finally you have to wait 5 seconds to let the probe gets discharged from possible static electricity.
