Overview

The MGMove is a smartwatch designed with built-in life safety capabilities, powered by 4G LTE. It offers a range of features aimed at enhancing personal safety and connectivity for the wearer, while also providing standard smartwatch functionalities.

Function Description:

The primary function of the MGMove is to provide immediate assistance in emergency situations through its SOS capabilities. It allows the wearer to connect with a Monitoring Center for help. Beyond emergencies, the smartwatch facilitates communication with a designated "Support Circle" through a messaging app and helps manage daily activities with features like reminders, step tracking, and weather updates.

Usage Features:

Emergency Assistance (SOS):

The MGMove offers two ways to activate an emergency call. The wearer can either tap the SOS app icon on the touchscreen or press and hold the physical red SOS Button located on the side of the smartwatch for 5 seconds. Once activated, the device will initiate a call to the Monitoring Center. In the event of a false alarm, the wearer has a 5-second window to cancel the alarm. The device provides visual feedback during the emergency call process, indicating when the call is being placed and when it is connected, along with the contact number.

Testing the Device:

To ensure the device is functioning correctly, the Test App should be used at least once a month. This feature allows the wearer to test the emergency call system with an automated recording, rather than sending an actual alarm to an agent. The device will confirm a successful test call.

Messaging App:

The Messages App enables caregivers to communicate with the wearer via the MyGuardian Web Portal & App. The smartwatch's Messages App icon displays the number of queued messages. To initiate a message, the wearer taps the Messages icon from the home screen.

  • Sending a New Message: Care Circle members must be set up through the portal to receive messages. To send a new message, the wearer taps the initials of the desired portal member. They then have the option to record an audio message (up to 60 seconds) or select a pre-scripted statement. The device provides visual cues during recording and allows for review, re-recording, or sending the message.
  • Reviewing Message Queue: To view queued messages that haven't been deleted or responded to, the wearer taps the center Messages Icon and swipes back and forth to preview them.
  • Message Responses: When an incoming message is viewed, the wearer can choose to Read or Play the message. Following this, they can Respond or Delete. Responses can be "yes," "no," or an audio recording of 60 seconds or less. If an audio recording is made, options to Review, Re-record, Send, or Cancel are provided.
  • New Message Alerts: Upon receiving a new message, the device will emit an alert sound and display a message preview screen. The wearer can tap "View Messages" to read the full message.

Support Circle Apps:

These apps are designed to keep the wearer connected to their support network. To add Support Circle members, the caregiver needs to create an account on the MyGuardian website. They fill out a registration page, verify their account, and then provide the Care Recipient's name, zip code, and the System UDI number (found on the back of the watch face and the box). The Account Owner is notified for approval, and once approved, the caregiver can log in to MyGuardian.

  • Reminders: Reminders created in the MyGuardian Web Portal & App can be sent to and reviewed by the wearer. An alert is sent 15 minutes before the event, unless otherwise specified. The reminders icon displays a number badge indicating upcoming reminders for the day. Past events are not shown, but future events can be scrolled through and will reset daily.
  • Chat: The MyGuardian Portal & App allows for sending messages and chatting with the Support Circle via a chat icon in the upper right of the screen.

Activity Tracking (Steps App):

The Steps App tracks the number of steps taken daily and weekly. To collect data, the "measure" toggle needs to be on. The wearer can set a daily step goal by clicking the gear icon and adjusting with "+" or "-". The "Reset" option sets the goal back to zero. After adjusting the goal, the back button returns to the main screen.

Weather App:

The Weather App uses the device's current location to display current weather conditions, including temperature, high, and low.

Watch Face Options:

The wearer can customize their watch face style and update their "Shake to Wake" preference. To change the clock face, they tap the current watch face name, swipe to their preferred style, and tap it to save. The SOS Button can be used to go back. "Shake to Wake" is enabled by default, and turning it off can extend battery charge.

Settings:

To access settings, the wearer taps the setting icon from the home screen, then "More Info," scrolls to the bottom, and taps "User Settings." The code 1234 is required to access these settings.

Battery Life & Signal Strength:

The expected battery life is up to 24 hours. To view the battery percentage, the wearer slides their thumb from the top to the bottom of the clock screen. The watch face also displays a colored dot (green, yellow, or red) indicating signal strength.

  • Green: Excellent signal
  • Yellow: Good signal
  • Red: Poor/None signal

Physical Buttons and Components:

  • SOS Button (Red): Located on the side, this button is pressed and held for 5 seconds for an emergency call or to return to the previous screen.
  • Sleep/Wake Button (Black): Located on the side, pressing and holding for 20 seconds reboots the system. If the device is out of battery and placed on the Charging Cradle, a 20-second press on this button is needed to boot up.
  • Adjustable Wristband: Features a metal clasp and rubber wristband for a comfortable and secure fit.
  • Touch Screen: Allows access to all Smartwatch Apps, including the SOS App Icon.

Maintenance Features:

Charging:

The MGMove comes with a Charging Cradle, Charging Brick, and USB Cable. When the smartwatch is placed on the Charging Cradle, a light will indicate its charge status:

  • Green: Full Charge
  • Yellow: Not Charging/Adjust Cradle (indicates the device might not be properly seated or charging)
  • Red: Under 97% Charge
