The Soft-close® system by Mepla-Alfit is a unique hinge system designed to provide a smooth, soft, and quiet closing experience for various types of doors, including kitchen, bath, and furniture doors, as well as face frame and aluminum frame doors. The system is engineered for easy, tool-less installation and offers a range of components to suit different hinge types and door configurations.

Soft-close® CST

The Soft-close® CST system is designed for use with Twin NT hinges, specifically CST 04, CST 05, CST 22, and CST 29 hinges. It offers an elegant design and fascinating engineering, ensuring a perfect combination with the hinge series. The core function is to provide a soft and quiet closing motion, making doors feel as if they are moving in a floating manner.

Technical Specifications and Components for CST:

  • Soft-close® CST Set: This set includes one Soft-close® CST adapter, one Soft-close® damper, and two hinge arm cover caps.
    • Ref. No. 924.200.41.0115 (PU 125 sets)
  • Soft-close® CST Adapter: This component is designed to be mounted onto CST Twin NT hinges after the hinge is already installed. It is fast, secure, and completely tool-less to install.
    • Ref. No. 924.200.41.0015 (PU 125 pcs.)
  • Soft-close® Damper: This component works in conjunction with the adapter to slow down the door's closing motion.
    • Ref. No. 924.012.50.0142 (PU 125 pcs.)
  • Cover Caps:
    • For hinge cranking 00: Ref. No. 514.300.21.0115 (nickel plated, unprinted, PU 125 pcs.) and 514.300.21.0215 (nickel plated, with Mepla-Alfit logo, PU 1000 pcs.)
    • For hinge cranking 08 and 15: Ref. No. 514.300.22.0015 (nickel plated, unprinted, PU 1000 pcs.)

Usage Features for CST:

  • Tool-less Mounting: Installation is designed to be quick and easy without the need for tools.
    1. Take door off the cabinet, remove cover cap (if installed) on 00 cranking hinges, open flap of hinge cup.
    2. Insert Soft-close® CST adapter onto locator pins which are attached to the hinge cup.
    3. Close Twin NT flap of hinge cup completely.
    4. Insert Soft-close® damper completely into Soft-close® adapter with the flattened side pointing down.
    5. Click on cabinet door to mounting plates.
    6. Mount cover cap on hinge if desired (cover cap is included in set).
    7. Adjust Soft-close® CST to different opening angles and cranking if necessary via adjustment screw.
  • Door Size and Weight Compatibility: The number of Soft-close® CST units required depends on the door size and weight. A chart is provided to recommend the appropriate number of units.
    • For 90 x 60 cm doors (4-5 kg): 1 Soft-close® CST unit.
    • For 160 x 60 cm doors (6-9 kg): 1 Soft-close® CST unit.
    • For 220 x 60 cm doors (13-17 kg): 2 Soft-close® CST units.
    • For 250 x 60 cm doors (18-22 kg): 2 Soft-close® CST units.
  • Important Note: Soft-close® CST is not recommended for frame door applications. Usage of low grade board material or furniture doors undergoing constant rough usage, the screwing of the adapter with screws Ø 3 mm is recommended.

Soft-close® CS

The Soft-close® CS system is designed for use with CS Click-on hinges, specifically CS 04, CS 05, CS 22, and CS 29 hinges. Similar to the CST system, it offers an elegant design and fascinating engineering, providing a perfect combination with the hinge series to ensure a soft and quiet closing motion.

Technical Specifications and Components for CS:

  • Soft-close® CS Set: This set includes one Soft-close® CS adapter with pre-mounted Soft-close®, one hinge cup cover cap, and two hinge arm cover caps.
    • Ref. No. 924.200.40.0115 (PU 125 set)
  • Soft-close® CS Adapter: This component can be installed immediately or mounted onto CS Click-on after the hinge is already installed. It is fast, secure, and completely tool-less to install.
    • Ref. No. 924.200.40.0215 (PU 125 pcs.)
  • Cover cap for CS hinge cup:
    • Ref. No. 514.300.20.0115 (steel, nickel plated, PU 125 pcs.)
  • Cover Caps:
    • For hinge cranking 00: Ref. No. 514.300.21.0115 (nickel plated, unprinted, PU 125 pcs.) and 514.300.21.0215 (nickel plated, with Mepla-Alfit logo, PU 1000 pcs.)
    • For hinge cranking 08 and 15: Ref. No. 514.300.22.0015 (nickel plated, unprinted, PU 1000 pcs.)

Usage Features for CS:

  • Tool-less Mounting: Installation is designed to be quick and easy without the need for tools.
    1. Take door off the cabinet, place it horizontal on a stable surface. Remove cover cap (if installed) on 00 cranking hinges.
    2. Insert Soft-close® CS adapter into notches located on the sides of the hinge cup and attach adapter.
    3. Press both sides of the adapter downwards until you hear a noticeable "click".
    4. Mount cover cap on hinge if desired (cover cap is included in set).
    5. Adjust Soft-close® CS to different opening angles and cranking if necessary via adjustment screw.
    6. Use cover for hinge cup (included in set) for the hinge without Soft-close® CS to achieve a uniform appearance.
  • Door Size and Weight Compatibility: The number of Soft-close® CS units required depends on the door size and weight. A chart is provided to recommend the appropriate number of units.
    • For 90 x 60 cm doors (4-5 kg): 1 Soft-close® CS unit.
    • For 160 x 60 cm doors (6-9 kg): 1 Soft-close® CS unit.
    • For 220 x 60 cm doors (13-17 kg): 2 Soft-close® CS units.
    • For 250 x 60 cm doors (18-22 kg): 2 Soft-close® CS units.

Soft-close® F65

The Soft-close® F65 system is suitable for hinges CST 65 and CS 65. It provides the same soft-closing functionality for these specific hinge types.

The Soft-close® Mirro system is designed for CS 07 Mirro and CS 07 Mirro 15° negative angle hinges.

Soft-close® ACC

The Soft-close® ACC system is specifically designed for face frame doors. It offers a unique combination of features for both wooden and aluminum frame doors.

Usage Features for ACC:

  • Hinge Cranking and Mounting Plate Thickness: The required hinge cranking (00, 08, 15) and mounting plate thickness (00, 02, 04) depend on the desired TA (TA 4 mm, TA 5 mm, TA 6 mm) and K values. Charts are provided to guide selection.
  • Trial Mount: Values are based on door edge 1 mm radius. A trial mount is recommended.
  • Wooden Frames: When using wooden frames smaller than 60 mm, a trial mount is recommended.
  • Glass/Silicon: Use of glass gasket or Silicon is not allowed in the area where Soft-close ACC is fitted.
  • Position for insert door: 10.5 mm + door thickness + 2 mm.
  • Door Size and Weight Compatibility:
    • For 90 x 60 cm doors (4-6 kg): 1 Soft-close® ACC unit.
    • For 160 x 60 cm doors (7-12 kg): 1 Soft-close® ACC unit.
    • For 220 x 60 cm doors (13-17 kg): 2 Soft-close® ACC units.
    • For 240 x 60 cm doors (18-22 kg): 2 Soft-close® ACC units.

Soft-close® AL

The Soft-close® AL system is specifically designed for aluminum frame doors.

Function Description for AL:

  • For aluminum frames 20 x 20 mm.
  • To use with CS 17 AL hinges.
  • Soft-close characteristic can be adjusted.
  • Simple assembly.
  • Invisible from the outside.
  • Elegant design.

Usage Features for AL:

  • Glass/Silicon: Use of glass gasket or Silicon is not allowed in the area where Soft-close AL is fitted. A trial mount is recommended.
  • Position for insert door: 10.5 mm + door thickness + 2 mm.

    • For 90 x 60 cm doors (4-6 kg): 1 Soft-close® AL unit.

General Information and Maintenance:

  • Compliance: The installation of all furniture fittings must comply with the Mepla-Alfit instructions stated in their available sales brochures. Otherwise, Mepla-Alfit cannot be held liable. For further information on installation and assembly, contact one of the factories directly.
  • Trial Mounts: For specific applications (e.g., wooden frames smaller than 60 mm, or where glass gasket/silicon is used), trial mounts are recommended to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
  • Adjustability: The Soft-close® characteristic can be adjusted for ACC and AL systems, allowing fine-tuning of the closing motion.
  • Tool-less Installation: Many of the Soft-close® components are designed for quick and easy tool-less installation, simplifying the assembly process.

The Soft-close® system provides a comprehensive solution for various door types, enhancing functionality with its soft-closing mechanism and ease of installation.
