System limits
The system may be impaired or may not function
in the following situations:

the tire pressure has been set incorrectly
R
there is a sudden pressure loss caused, for
example, by a foreign object penetrating the
tire
R
there is a malfunction caused by another
radio signal source

Tires
One of the following displays appears:
R
Current tire pressure and tire temperature of
the individual wheels:
R
Tire pressure will be displayed after driving a
few minutes
R
Tire Pressure Monitor Active: the teach-in
process of the system is not yet complete.
The tire pressures are already being moni‐
tored.
The teach-in process takes longer if you have
engaged the differential locks. Check the tire
pressure again at a later date.

Compare the tire pressure with the recom‐
mended tire pressure for the current operat‐
ing condition (/ page 387). Observe the
notes on tire temperature (/ page 385).

The values displayed in the multifunction dis‐
play may deviate from those of the tire pres‐
sure gauge as they refer to sea level. At high
altitudes, the tire pressure value indicated by
a pressure gauge are higher than those
shown by the on-board computer. In this
case, do not reduce the tire pressure.

Restarting the tire pressure monitoring sys‐
tem
Requirements:

The recommended tire pressure is correctly
set for the respective operating status on
each of the four wheels (/ page 385).
Restart the tire pressure monitoring system in
the following situations:
R
The tire pressure has changed.
R
The wheels or tires have been changed or
newly installed.
