3. If necessary, remove the fill cap and add fluid until the level in
the reservoir reaches the MIN level mark. It is acceptable to fill
the reservoir beyond the MIN level mark, but do not overfill
past the MAX level mark.

4. Raise the sterndrive unit two or three times to bleed air out of
the system. The fluid level may drop. Add more fluid if
necessary, but do not overfill past the MAX level mark.
5. Replace the fill cap.
CHECKING TRANSOM INPUT SHAFT BEARING HOUSING (DRIVELINE MODELS
ONLY)
1. Remove the level indication (middle) pipe plug from the input
shaft housing. The gear lubricant level should be to the
bottom of the hole. If not, remove the pipe plug from the top of
the input shaft housing.
2. Fill the input shaft housing through the top pipe plug hole with
fluid until gear lubricant flows from the middle pipe plug hole
(do not overfill).
3. Install the pipe plugs into the input shaft housing and tighten
securely.
