Ifthedriver'sseatbeltisfastened,andtheacceleratorpedal
ispressedforstartoff,theEPBsystemwillbeautomatically
turnedoff.
EmergencyBrakingFunction
InappropriateuseofEPBcanleadto
accidentsandinjuries.DONOTapply
theEPBforvehiclebrakingwhilstmoving,
unlessinanemergency.
DuringemergencybrakingusingtheEPB,
DONOTswitchoffthepowersystem,this
couldresultinseriousinjury.
Intheeventofnormalbrakefailureduringdriving,
emergencybrakingcanbeinitiatedbypullingandholding
theEPBswitchupward.Anaudiblewarningwillsound
duringemergencybraking.Thebrakingprocesswillbe
cancelledbyreleasingtheEPBswitch.
ServiceBrakeSystem
ThisseriesofmodelsisequippedwithanIntegrated
BrakingSystem(IBS),whichbrakesthevehiclethrough
dualcircuits.Payattentiontothefollowingsduringuseof
theIBS:
•TheIBSonlyfunctionswiththepowersysteminREADY
mode.NEVERallowthevehicletofreewheelwiththe
powersystemturnedoff.
•Ifthepowersystemisturnedoffwhiledriving,you
shouldrmlypressthebrakepedal,andstopthevehicle
asquicklyastrafcsafelypermits.
•IftheIBSperformancedegradesduetoalowbatteryor
otherreasons,youneedtoapplymoreforcethanusual
tothebrakepedaltobrakeeffectively.
•Whendrivingthroughpuddlesorheavyrain,awater
lmmayformonthesurfaceofbrakedisc,whicheasily
reducesthebrakingefciencyandextendsbraking
distance.Inthiscase,keepasafedistancefromother
vehiclesandintermittentlyapplythebrakepedalto
keepthebrakediscsurfacedry.
