Alarm+Braking
Whenthesystemdetectsariskofcollisionbetween
thisvehicleandthevehicleaheadinthislaneormoving
pedestrians,thebrakesystemwilllowerthespeed
automaticallysoastoavoidcollisionormitigatethe
damageofthecollision.Ifthevehicleisbrakedtostop,it
willkeepstationarywithinashorttime,thenthecontrol
ofthevehiclewillbehandedovertothedriver .
Thesystemwillautomaticallyslowdownthe
vehicleonlywhenthefollowingconditionsare
met:
•Thedynamicstabilitycontrolsystem(SCS)and
tractioncontrolsystem(TCS)areONandfailure-free;
•ThevehicleisinDriveorNeutralgear;
•Theairbagsarenotdeployed.
Note:Insomecases,thedrivermaynothave
anticipatedanybrakinginterventionanddoes
notwanttoapplythebrakeswhilsttheforward
collisionsystemisbrakingheavily,thedrivercan
temporarilycancelthisoperationbyheavilypressing
theacceleratorpedalafterensuringthatitissafeto
doso.
Theforwardcollisionassistsystemwillbe
limitedordoesnotworkinthefollowing
conditions
•Thereisoncomingtrafc,thevehicleaheaddrives
acrosstransverselyorcutssuddenly;
•Thevehicleaheaddoesnotfollowtherulesofdriving
(forexample,drivingacrosslanes)andparking(onthe
roadstransversely);
•Thevehicleaheadisnotonthesamelaneofthisvehicle
orispartiallyblocked;
•Thevehicleaheadisanon-standardmotorvehicle(for
example,arettedvehicle);
•Thevehicleaheadisavehiclewithhighchassis.
•Thevehicleaheadisalargevehicleandataclose
distance(suchasatractor ,atrailer,atowingvehicle,a
mud-carryingvehicleandasanitationtruck);
•Thevehicleaheadissomemeansoftransportation
rarelycanbeseenontheroad(suchastheoxcart,
carriageorothers);
•Thevehicleaheadisabicycle,motorbikeorsmall
wheeledobject(suchassuitcases,shoppingcartsor
wheelchairs);
