•PulluptheEPBswitchtoturnontheEPBsystemafter
thevehicleisparkedsafely.Withthevehiclepowered
on,depressthebrakepedal,andpresstheEPBswitch
toturnofftheEPBsystem.
IftheEPBindicatorislitredintheinstrumentpack,
thisindicatestheEPBisON.
IftheEPBindicatorisnotdisplayedintheinstrument
pack,thisindicatestheEPBisoff.
Note:AlwaysturnontheEPBsystemeverytimeyou
leavethevehicle.
Note:Anaudiblemotornoisemaybeheardwhen
turningonorofftheEPBsystem.
IMPORTANT
•DONOTleavethevehiclebeforethegearindicator
isdisplayedasP,thevehiclemaynotbesafelyparked
duetoEPBfailureandslip.
•Intheeventofaatbatteryorpowerfailure,itis
notpossibletoapplyorreleasetheEPB.Insucha
case,'boostercables'shallbeusedforemergency
vehiclestart.Pleasereferto'EmergencyStarting'in
the'EmergencyInformation'chapter .
StartingAid
Ifthedriver'sseatbeltisfastenedandtheacceleratorpedal
ispressed,theEPBsystemwillautomaticallyturnoff.
EmergencyBrakingFunction
InappropriateuseofEPBcanleadto
accidentsandinjuries.DONOTapply
theEPBwhilstinmotionunlessitisan
emergency.
WhenemergencybrakingwiththeEPB,DO
NOTswitchoffthepowersystemasthis
couldresultinseriousinjury.
Intheeventofnormalbrakefailureduringdriving,
emergencybrakingcanbeinitiatedbypullingandholding
theEPBswitchupward.Anaudiblewarningwillsound
duringemergencybraking.Thebrakingprocesswillbe
cancelledbyreleasingtheEPBswitch.
