Note:Thedrivershalladjustthevehiclespeedand
thefollowingdistanceaccordingtotheroadvisibility,
weatherandroadconditions.Theintelligentcruise
assist(ICA)systemdoesnotrespondtopedestrians,
animals,stationaryvehiclesandvehiclesthatdrive
acrossthelaneoroncomingvehiclesonthesamelane.
Iftheintelligentcruiseassistsystemcannotreducethe
vehiclespeedsufciently,thedrivershallapplythe
brakebydepressingthebrakepedal.Ifanothervehicle
cutsintothecurrentlaneundercongestedconditions,
thesystemmaynotbraketimelyduetothefactthat
thevehiclemergingdoesnotenteritsdetectionrange,
andthedrivershallactivelyapplythebrake.
Theintelligentcruiseassistsystemwillbe
limitedordoesnotworkinthefollowing
conditions:
•Thedriverturnsontheturnsignallamp,depressesthe
acceleratorpedalrapidly,makesemergencysteeringor
depressesthebrakepedalhard;
•ThevehicleisinReversegear;
•Thesystemrecognisethatthedriverdoesnot
manipulatethesteeringwheelforaperiodoftime,
orthedriveroperatesthesteeringwheelwhenthe
systemimplementscontrol;
•Thelanelineistoothin,damagedorfuzzy,oldand
newmarkingsoverlap;roadsectionswithoutlanelines,
suchasnon–standardisedroadsandconstructionareas,
speciallanelines,suchasdecelerationcuelines,guide
lines,etc.
•Rain,snow,fogandotherlowvisibilityweather;
lowlightintensityatnight,directsunlight,backlit
environments,dusty/crosswindconditions;roadways
whereobjectscastlargeshadowsonthelane;
•Congestedtrafc;poorroadconditionssuchasbumpy,
slippery,crackedoricyroadsurfaces;
•Thevehicleisonaturnwithasmallturnradiusoron
toonarrowortoowideofaroad,uphillanddownhill
roadwayscenarios,tunnels,thepresenceofedgesor
otherhigh-contrastlinesontheroadsurfaceotherthan
lanelines,suchaspavementseams,kerbs,etc.;
•Insufcientlengthofon-andoff-rampapproaches,
complexterrainatroadwayforks,speciallanechanges
suchaslanemerges,reroutes,anddiversions;
•Thevehiclehasjustenteredaroadsectionwithlanes
orhaspassedtheroadsectionwithoutlanelines;
•Fastmergingvehiclesincloseproximity,vehiclesmoving
tothenextlanequickly,rapidlyapproachingsideand
